European School of Osteopathy (ESO)

The European School of Osteopath – formerly École Française d’Ostéopathie or EFO, founded in Paris by Paul Gény in 1951 – moved to London 1965 and then to Kent in 1971, near Maidstone town centre. In response to the incresing student demand in the UK a new full-time program was launched in 1974; the course was in English. The School registered as a charity by the name of European School of Osteopathy/ Ecole Européenne d’Ostéopathie and on 1st October 1974 its first four-year full-time diploma began. Due to the popularity of the course the student demand kept growing, to the point that the school premises could no longer accomodate all the courses. As a consequence, in 1996 the school purchased the Boxley House campus, which is now its main academic and administrative site. The School’s dedicated teaching clinic, where students provide osteopathic treatment to the public, is located at the original Maidstone site.

Today ESO has come together with BCOM “under the parent company British College of Naturopathy & Osteopathy (BCNO Limited).” This comes as a milestone in the history of both institutions and ESO is truly grateful for the talent and expertise that each of them brings to the plate.
